Founded in 1933, Kagin’s is America’s oldest family-owned numismatic firm. For more than 90 years, Kagin’s has specialized in rare coins and currency, earning the trust of collectors, investors and institutions around the world. Today, under the leadership of Dr. Donald H. Kagin, the first person in the United States to earn both a B.A. and Ph.D. in Numismatics, Kagin’s continues to set the standard for expertise and authenticity in the field.

Through a partnership with Vici Network, led by Silicon Valley entrepreneur Jon Fisher, Kagin’s Digital was launched. Our platform unites the world of tangible history with the security and reach of blockchain technology, creating direct, transparent connections between investors and rare numismatic treasures.

The high-value collectibles market has traditionally presented barriers to broader participation. Kagin’s Digital removes those barriers by making it possible to purchase fractional shares of valuable items, opening access to more people while expanding visibility and potential value. Blockchain technology keeps the process secure and seamless. Every share is digitally certified with tamper-proof verification and ownership recorded on the Base Network, an Ethereum Layer-2 blockchain built by Coinbase. Purchases can be made instantly, by credit card or cryptocurrency, with ownership details accessible anytime from any device.

Our first two offerings highlight how this model works in practice. The 1934 $100,000 U.S. Gold Certificate Specimen sold out in just two months, demonstrating both demand and accessibility. We subsequently launched the 1652 New England Shilling, the first colonial coin minted in America. With only about sixty known specimens, it’s the kind of artifact that has traditionally been out of reach, now opened to a wider community.
